Quartzite

Quartzite is a metamorphic rock formed when quartz-rich sandstone or chert has been exposed to high temperatures and pressures. Such conditions fuse the quartz grains together forming a dense, hard, equigranular rock. Because of its hardness and angular shape, crushed quartzite is often used as a railway ballast. Quartzite is a decorative stone and may be used to cover walls, as roofing tiles, as flooring, and stair steps. Its use for countertops in kitchens is expanding rapidly. It is harder and more resistant to stains than granite.

Quartz Surfaces (‘Composite Stones’)

Quartz is one of nature’s hardest minerals. Quartz and combined with numerous polymers and pigments. The result is a range of durable and beautiful quartz surfaces in a wide variety of colors and finishes. Resistant to stains, scratches, and cracks, they are also highly heat-resistant, and happily shrug off most common household chemicals. They are nonporous, making them safe and hygienic.

Corian

A favourite for architects and designers. Corian can be whatever you imagine it can be. Virtually seamless regardless of size Corian can be made into organic shapes and you can blend in the sink and drainers. Choose from a wide range of trendsetting colours, patterns, tones even translucent panels that can be used to create a light-emitting backsplash. You can even create your own custom colours.

Wood

Often used for breakfast bars and cladding our specialist suppliers have an interesting selection of exotic woods most would not have heard of. With today’s technology one need not be worried to use wood in the kitchen as a long term investment and with a little care will last many years. In fact, wood can be sanded and re-oiled after many years of use. Wood is also naturally anti-bacterial.

Stainless Steel

Can be made to any shape or size. A range of sink bowls, drainer units, and hob units are available for seamlessly welding and polishing into the worktops. Manufactured from durable 1.5mm grade stainless steel and polished to a 240-grit silicon finish, all of our worktops are bonded onto moisture-resistant MDF and fitted with a secure earth point.

Marble

Not the first choice in terms of durability due to their porous properties; Marble worktops have some of the most beautiful patterns and like wood, they can bring minimal kitchens to life. There is a huge selection to choose from and one would pick their own slab from the yards to pick the best one. Some have huge patterns running meters down the length of the slab and will always be unique. Good for breakfast bars and islands without sink and hobs.

Granite

Granite is beautiful, easy to look after and durable. Granite is hard, with a very dense grain, making it difficult to stain and hard to scratch. Although it is not recommended to subject granite to drastic and sudden changes in temperature, it is highly resistant to temperature damage and is an ideal material near range cookers or anything emitting high temperatures. Cutting & chopping on granite is fine to do so, however, it will shorten the lives of your steel knives as they will swiftly lose their edge, blunted by the hard stone. Its smooth dense structure also means that it provides few havens for bacteria, and is therefore ideally suited for kitchen worktops.

Neolith

NeoLith is the next step in the evolution of countertop surfaces. Their Ultra Compact Surfaces are a new type of countertop surface manufactured by putting the raw materials found in glass, porcelain, and quartz, under extremely high heat and pressure to create a nearly indestructible material.

What makes NeoLith the best choice for your new countertops? Its NeoLith’s revolutionary manufacturing process uses 100% natural materials, extreme heat, and intense pressure to produce the most durable surface material available in the market today. We confidently say “extreme” heat and “intense” pressure because NeoLith slabs are cured at about 2200° Fahrenheit (1200+°º Celsius), and compressed to over 5900 pounds per square inch. In comparison quartz countertops are only cured at about 200° Fahrenheit, and like other countertop surfaces, this results in a surface finish that can be easily damaged by something as simple as a hot pan without a trivet or hot pad underneath.

Dekton

Dekton is an ultracompact surface that consists of a sophisticated blend of the raw materials used to produce the very latest in glass and porcelain as well as the highest quality quartz work surfaces.

Dekton employs exclusive Sinterized Particle Technology, a high-tech process that represents an accelerated version of the metamorphic change that natural stone undergoes when subjected to high temperatures and pressure over thousands of years.

A consequence of the sinterization and ultra-compaction process exclusive to DEKTON is the material is zero porous and results in a lack of the micro-defects that cause tension or weak spots mark the difference as far as DEKTON is concerned.
